In a retelling and reclaiming of creation, Eve is the deer, my personal symbol for the feminine, with the snake wrapped around her body. Instead of feeling fear or shame, she and the snake (a primordial symbol for rebirth and renewal) are on a journey of their own, making sacred and safe spaces along the way.

Print Edition: Eve, Woodcut
This piece is a "woodcut.” It is in the block print or relief family of printmaking, which refers to two surfaces, one lower than the other, so that the highest surface prints. I hand carve each image with a variety of gouge tools. The remaining surface is rolled with ink and pressed through the printing press. Each print taken from the plate is part of an edition, and numbered. Printed on 100% Cotton Rag Paper.
