Cut from a page of an oversize book on geology (don't worry, pages were missing before it was given to me!), featuring a map of Copper Mining Sites in the West, this piece illuminates the strangeness of straight human borders, something that animals and nature have no concept of.  The borders on this map are a human construct, but that isn't the way nature works. I am haunted by heartbreaking stories of animals found starved or dehydrated, trapped on one side of the border as they pace for hours or walk miles out of their normal range to find a crossing to find water, food or hunt.
