This is a hand thrown sgraffito tumbler, made by applying a colored slip on top of the clay and carving through the slip to the lighter surface beneath. Distressed clear glaze on the outside and white buttermilk glaze on the inside.  
 
Dishwasher safe, microwave safe though I always recommend handwashing handmade ceramics!
